Otters Bring in Four PDL Veterans

The Tri-Cities Otters continue their roster announcements (pending league approval) with the addition of four players with PDL experience. The group includes one goalkeeper from Appalachian State University, another from Ohio Valley University, and a two from two West Virginia schools. Join us in welcoming Jake Chasteen, Carlos Rubio, Daniel Jodah, and Dion Peters to the Tri-Cities!

Blowing Rock native Jake Chasteen is coming off of a sophomore campaign that saw him record 25 saves in six games for the Appalachian State Mountaineers. In his freshman year, Chasteen led the Sun Belt Conference in Goals Against Average (0.37), save percentage (0.864), and shutouts per game (0.50). Chasteen previously played in the PDL with the Southern West Virginia King’s Warriors.

Carlos Rubio appeared in goal eighteen times for the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots this past season. He was able to lead the G-MAC conference in shutouts (6), shutouts per game (0.33), and goals against average (1.10). For his play, Rubio was awarded Defensive Player of the Week on October 3rd and was named to the All-Conference Second Team. Rubio also made six appearances for the West Virginia Chaos last season and recorded one shutout.

Daniel Jodah comes to the Otters after completing his illustrious career at Marshall University. Jodah appeared in 70 games over four seasons for the Thundering Herd and scored 11 goals, as well as adding 11 assists. Jodah was able to lead his team in points his sophomore and senior seasons, and finished second in points his junior year. Jodah also made two appearances for Tormenta FC in the PDL last summer.

Dion Peters played college soccer at the University of Charleston in West Virginia. The Trinidadian forward scored 48 goals and added 23 assists while with the Golden Eagles. Peters was All-WVIAC all four seasons, All-Region his junior and senior year, an All-American his sophomore and senior year, and the WVIAC Player of the Year those seasons as well. Peters also has extensive PDL experience with the West Virginia Chaos.
