Otters Bring Back Four From Last Year’s Squad

The Otters have already announced the return of five former Otters, and are pleased to announce the return of four more from last season pending league approval. The four players made 18 appearances between them for Tri-Cities FC last season. The group includes defenders Blake McNelis and Shalom Dutey and midfielders Itode “Fubi” Fubara and Jordan Broadwater.

Blake McNelis appeared in six games for the Otters, recording over 400 minutes of game action. McNelis has played at Creighton University where he made three appearances and was most recently on the Dayton Flyers.

Shalom Duty appeared in five games for the Otters last year and scored one goal. Duty currently plays at Liberty University, where he just completed his freshman season. Duty made nine starts for the Flames over 12 total appearances and scored one goal.

After making three appearances for the Otters last summer, Itode “Fubi” Fubara will play for the Otters again this season. The Nigerian midfielder was a major contributor for four seasons at ETSU and helped lead the Bucs to two conference tournament titles. In his 76 appearances for the blue and gold, Fubi scored eight goals and added 13 assists. In his career, Fubi was part of the All-Freshman Team in 2010; he made First Team All-Conference three times (2010, 2012, and 2013), Second Team All-Conference in 2011, and All-Tournament Team in 2010 (also MVP), 2012, and 2013.

Dobyns-Bennett midfielder Jordan Broadwater will return to the Otters for a second season after appearing in four games last year. Last season, Broadwater was the District 1-AAA Midfielder of the Year and helped Dobyns-Bennett reach the state tournament. Broadwater recently committed to play for ETSU in the fall.

The Otters kickoff their home schedule on June 6th at Kermit-Tipton Stadium against Peachtree City MOBA. Please visit for more information on tickets and upcoming events.
